Università di Roma La Sapienza - Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering
The Department of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Engineering (DIAEE), born in 2010, is divided, for scientific and functional reasons, into the following four sections: the Technical Physics Section, the Astronautical Engineering Section, the Electrical Engineering Section and the Nuclear Engineering Section. In particular, the Technical Physics Section involved in the PRIN 2020 research project deals with building energy, but in general its activities concern the areas of lighting, acoustics, ventilation, indoor air quality (IAQ), heat exchange and energy planning and optimization. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for research and teaching and great data acquisition capacity for field measurements, a technological laboratory located within the Urbe Airport area where some research on decarbonisation and the energy transition is underway. The Department works on a broad portfolio of fundamental and applied national and international research projects on Technology, Energy, Construction and Environment, energy planning and process decarbonisation.

Università degli Studi di Firenze - Department of Architecture
The Department of Architecture (DIDA) is one of the key organisational structures of the University of Florence (UNIFI). It is responsible for the research activities and the knowledge transfer, and, in close connection with the School of Architecture, for the teaching programmes too. The DIDA has administrative and expenditure autonomy and its internal regulations. The DIDA identifies its scientific and educational field in the culture and science of design, understood as a synthesis between aesthetic-humanistic, technical-scientific and economic-organizational dimensions. The Department of Architecture is divided into various areas and specializations, which cover vast areas of knowledge. The different disciplinary areas that belong to the DIDA concern: architectural design, survey and representation of architecture, history of architecture, conservation and restoration, science and technology of constructions, architectural technology, valuation, industrial design, urban design and land use planning, landscape design, and building physic

Università degli Studi di Pavia - Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture
The Faculty of Engineering (relatively young, reborn in 1967) is considered among the best Italian engineering schools today. In the CENSIS rankings it is placed in the first positions both for the quality of the Degree Courses and for the quality of the research of its departments (Civil Engineering and Architecture, Industrial and Information Engineering, Mathematics “Felice Casorati”). It offers 4 three-year degree courses, a five-year single-cycle degree, for the master’s degree 4 courses in English and 4 in Italian.
The Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture directs its research towards four areas of multidisciplinary activity: knowledge, conservation, reuse and sustainable enhancement of the built heritage; smart sustainable city; protection of the territory, communities and assets from natural and environmental risks; virtual modeling and additive manufacturing (3D printing) for advanced materials.

Università Iuav di Venezia - Department of Architecture and Arts
Today, the Iuav University of Venice is a place of teaching, higher education, and research concerning the design of spaces and human environments. About 4000 students are enrolled in bachelor and master degree courses, more than 300 post-graduate students attend higher education courses (postgraduate specialization courses, doctorate, and specialization school), and more than 170 lecturers and researchers are currently employed at Iuav.
Iuav has always been an experimental university in its institutional organization and teaching methods, which are increasingly characterized by the experience of projects’ laboratories. It is the only university in Italy entirely dedicated to teaching and research in design disciplines: Architecture, Urban Planning, Design, Arts, Fashion, Theatre and Performing Arts, all included within the single Department of Architecture and Arts.
Iuav research focuses on the cultures and disciplines of the project involving architecture, urban planning, landscape, design, the arts, and fashion, integrating technical and humanistic knowledge. The university includes a wide range of knowledge. It connects with a variety of local authorities and communities that are closely linked to sustainability issues through research projects that focus on different topics, collaborating with the university’s laboratories that provide highly specialized tools, technologies, and skills.
