Postdoctoral researcher
Martina Ferrando holds a Master’s degree in Building Engineering and a PhD in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology from Politecnico di Milano.
She is currently a research fellow at the Department of Energy, where she is pursuing a project on Urban Building Energy Modelling. During her studies, she completed a traineeship at the Technical University of Norway (NTNU) in Trondheim and she was an affiliate at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for nine months, working with the developers of one of the primary urban building energy modelling tools.
Her projects focus on improving existing modelling tools for urban-scale energy simulations and applying them to the Italian context using data-mining and machine learning techniques.
