Mechanic Engineer, PhD, since 2006 Full Professor of “Environmental Technical Physics” (applied thermodynamics, heat transfer, thermal systems, and acoustics, ING-IND/11) at the University of Pavia, Italy.
The scientific activity is mainly oriented towards energy and environmental topics, with focus on buildings, for energy efficiency, thermal insulation, thermal comfort, energy sustainability, and technical systems management. Some studies focus on historic buildings. In the last ten years, the research included technical systems optimised to extract water from atmospheric air, and contemporarily use energy fluxes for heating and cooling needs. Another research field regards environmental noise and building acoustics. Principal Investigator in Projects of relevant national interest on energy performance of buildings, local unit coordinator or participant in national and international projects on environmental noise and architectural acoustics.
