Born in Passignano S/T (PG), Italy in 1968 November the 17th. Architect, PhD in “Applied Physics”, University
Researcher (Scientific Sector 09/C2 – ING-IND/11) at the Department of Architecture (DIDA) of the University
of Florence. Assistant Professor of “Building physics and building energy systems” at the School of Architecture
of the University of Florence. Lecturer of “Building Physics” at the University “Nostra Signora del Buon
Consiglio” of Tirana, Albania.
His research activity mainly focuses on thermal comfort and Indoor Air Quality, energy efficiency in historical
buildings, energy savings and sustainability in buildings, nZEB and Passivhaus, preservation of works of art.
On these topics he has held lectures in Masters, Specializing schools and PhD courses, and has participated
in National Research Projects and in Researches for Public or Private Institutions .
Member of A.T.I. (Italian Thermotechnical Association), A.I.C.A.R.R. (Italian Association of Air Conditioning,
Heating, Refrigeration), IBPSA-Italy, the Italian regional affiliate of IBPSA (International Building Performance
Simulation Association), ABITA (Interuniversity Research Center on Bioecological Architecture and
Technological Innovation for the Environment) and CIRIAF (Interuniversity Research Center on Pollution and
the Environment “Mauro Felli” ). In collaboration with these associations, he has also participated in the
organization of several national seminars and conferences relating to his research topics. In the field of
standardization he has also participated in several UNI research groups.
Author of more than 90 peer reviewed scientific publications (journals and conferences) and book chapters.
