Assistant Professor
Ivano Petracci, PhD, is an assistant professor (SSD ING-IND/10) at the Department of Industrial Engineering of “Tor Vergata” University of Rome.
He currently teaches “Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer 1” and “Energetics” for the Batchelor and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, the course of “Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer” for the Degree in Energy Engineering and for the Master’s Degree in Medical Engineering.
He has been supervisor and co-supervisor of over 60 degree, master’s and doctoral theses.
In the a.y. 2015-2016 he was Director of the II level Master in “Thermo-fluid dynamics”.
His experimental activity is focused on methods for enhancing convective heat transfer with both active and passive techniques (extended and treated surfaces, lattice ducts, acoustic fields applied to fluids and composite solutions). The research is supported by thermodynamic and fluid dynamic investigations (hot wire anemometry and flow visualization techniques such as Particle Image Velocimetry) and by CFD studies in thermofluid dynamic applications.
In April 2017 he obtained the national scientific qualification (ASN) as associate professor. He is, since 2021, Editorial Board Member of the journal Applied Sciences, ISSN: ISSN: 2076-3417, Scopus indexed, Impact Factor: 2.679 (2020) ; 5-Year Impact Factor: 2,736 (2020). In 2022 he was Guest Editor of Applied Sciences magazine for the Special Issue “Novel Techniques and Approaches to Multiphysics Fluid Dynamics (Environmental, Industrial and Medical)”.
