The PRIN program (Research Projects of Relevant National Interest) is intended to finance public research projects, with the aim of promoting the strengthening of national scientific bases, also with a view to more effective participation in European initiatives relating to the Framework Programs of the European Union.
The guiding principles of the PRIN program are:
- the high quality of the scientific profile of the PI and of the unit heads, as well as the originality, methodological adequacy, impact and feasibility of the research project;
- the eligibility of projects related to any research field;
- adequate financial support guaranteed by the MUR.
